Azalea Orthopedics Sports Medicine

Azalea Orthopedics has been providing sports medicine in the East Texas area for over twenty years. The Physicians in Azalea Orthopedics enjoy working with area schools and sports clubs to help keep the individuals healthy and able to participate in their activity of choice. Azalea Physicians have been team doctors for many of the schools in the region and have a great working relationship with their Athletic Trainers.
         
For schools without an Athletic Trainer, Azalea Orthopedics has hired full time Athletic Trainers to visit these campuses to provide a service that benefits the athlete and local community. School Districts in East Texas have received great benefits from having Licensed Athletic Trainers work with their athletes. This service has allowed the individuals to access healthcare professionals without leaving their community.
         
In 2003 Azalea Orthopedics started the Licensed Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer program. This program has served to help provide daily on campus Athletic Trainers to schools that other wise would not have been able to afford the services. In some cases the Graduate Assistant has served as the second or third Athletic Trainer on campus providing more extensive coverage to the athletes and staff of the respected community.

Our Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers have been very successful not only in the role of GA Athletic Trainer but have gone on to make an impact in the field of Athletic Training once they finished there education.  Alumni form the Graduate Assistant program have taken on roles as Athletic Trainers in the High School, College/University, and Professional Sports settings.
