Sports Medicine Athletic Trainers
Dan Fuller M.Ed ATC. LAT.
Dan Fuller is the Head Athletic Trainer/Sports Medicine Coordinator for Azalea Orthopedics in Tyler Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1993 and his Master of Education Degree from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2006.
Dan is a Texas Licensed and Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer. He has been working professionally since 1993 and has worked in the clinical and Professional Sports settings. |

Dan is currently the Region 5 Director for TSATA. He is the acting Vice-chair of TSATA and serves of various committees in the Association. Dan is a founding member of the East Texas Athletic Trainers Association. He has maintained an Executive position with the organization since the inception in 1996.
Dan has been involved with managing, recruiting, and advising Graduate Assistant Programs since 1997.
Dan is married with one child, Lynette Fuller and daughter Madison.
Joel Gangross LAT
Joel Gangross has been licensed as an Athletic Trainer since 1998 and joined Azalea Orthopedics in 2005. He received is Bachelor’s Degree from Texas Lutheran University and served as Head Athletic Trainer for Cleveland I.S.D. prior to joining Azalea Orthopedics.
Joel believes in not only treating patients with the highest level of care, but educating them on the proper care and prevention of injuries.
Joel is married to Lori and enjoys music, fishing, and spending time with his daughters, Hannah, Laynie, and Kennedy.
Jesse Amburn M.Ed ATC. LAT.
Jesse Amburn received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Exercise Science in 1998 from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. He furthered his education through the University of Texas at Tyler where he graduated in 2004 with a Master’s of Education in Kinesiology.
He received his state license and national certification in athletic training in 1998 and has been practicing since that time.
He has worked at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia, University Medical Center in Lubbock, Health South Physical Therapy in Lubbock, Vanguard Physical Therapy in Lubbock and currently Azalea Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Tyler. Throughout his professional career he has provided sports medicine coverage at a variety of different venues including aiding physical therapists with the rehabilitation of patients, rodeo, both high school and college sports, summer strength and conditioning camps, and USA Jr. Olympic Diving. Furthermore, he has aided in marketing and administration of Sports Medicine programs.
Currently, since 2005, Jesse has been working with Dr. L. Matthew Jones, MD as his clinical medical assistant. He has been a member of the Southwestern Athletic Training Association since 1995, the National Athletic Training Association since 1997, the Texas State Athletic Training Association since 2001, and the State Fireman’s and Fire Marshall’s Association since 2007.
Hobbies include camping, hiking, and volunteering at Chapel Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
Joshua Bowles LAT
Joshua Bowles comes to Azalea Orthopedics from West Texas A&M University. Currently Joshua is working as the Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer on the campus of Grace Community High School in Tyler Texas.
LaTamera Fry LAT
LaTamera comes to Azalea Orthopedics from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. LaTamera is currently the Graduate Assistant working on the campus of All Saints Episcopal High School.
Rebecca Hampton LAT
Rebecca comes to Azalea Orthopedics from Baylor University. Rebecca previously worked as a Licensed Athletic Trainer at Everman High School for four years before she returned to obtain her Masters Degree. Rebecca is currently working on the campus of her alma mater. A Graduate of Brownsboro High School she welcomed the chance to return to the location where her love for Athletic Training took root.
LaTisha Hooper LAT
LaTisha or Tish as she likes to be called comes to Azalea Orthopedics from Henderson State University. Tish is currently in her second year as a Graduate Assistant on the campus of Tyler Junior College.
Joshua Neil LAT
Josh Neil comes to Azalea Orthopedics from Stephen F. Austin State University. Josh is currently working as one of two Graduate Assistants at Lon Morris College.
Ebony Thierry Graduate Student
Ebony comes to Azalea Orthopedics from Southeastern Louisiana University. After an Internship at Southern Missouri, Ebony joined our program as the second Graduate Assistant at Lon Morris College.
