TYLER – You are cordially invited to the second annual ETSN.fm +APEC Football Recruiting Combine, powered by Azalea Orthopedics, on Sunday, June 1 in Tyler.
The event, which will feature more than 100 of the East Texas’ top prospects from the 2015 and 2016 classes, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at both APEC training facilities (5704 New Copeland Rd., Tyler, TX, 75703) and Tyler Lee High School (411 ESE Loop 323, Tyler, TX 75701).
The combine will consist of individual measurable testing drills at APEC in the morning, followed by position-specific one-on-one drills on the practice field at Lee High School in the afternoon.
This is an East Texas-only event that gives select players in the 2015 and 2016 classes the opportunity to showcase their skills in 10 NFL combine-style tests, plus position-specific drills. Athletes will receive grades for each exercise, which will go toward a cumulative score to rank overall performances.
ETSN.fm will cover the combine extensively on its website and plans to host writers from multiple recruiting networks – 247Sports.com, Rivals.com, ESPN.com, and Scout.com — to also cover the event, giving East Texas athletes as much exposure to colleges as possible.
Once the one-on-one drills are complete, the staff at both ETSN.fm and APEC will confer and select MVPs for each position as well as an overall Offensive and Defensive MVP.
The event is free and open to the public, as well as the media. No credential is required, and members of the media will have a chance to take pictures, shoot video and interview players as long as it does not interfere with that athlete’s combine performance.
